Biography
Jeffery and his twin brother Jason, also an artist, were born in Salem Massachusetts on July 26, 1981. When Jeffrey was in grammar school he was diagnosed with dyslexia and his parents made two big choices that would change both boy’s lives. They sent them to the Landmark School in Beverly Farms and enrolled them in the newly opened Acorn Gallery Art School in Marblehead MA. Twenty years later he is still painting at Acorn, and Debra and Jack Highberger are now as ever supportive and ready to help.
As others at the school were off to college, Acorn students are sought after at large schools of art; Jeffrey chose to immerse himself instead in his painting. He honed his craft daily trying different techniques and mediums till he understood their usefulness and limits.
Jeffrey has developed an eye for iconic imagery of New England and the beauty of the ordinary but one of his best strengths is capturing the atmospherics the lights of the different seasons brings to the area.
Selling his first painting at age fifteen his works can be seen in many collections across the country
